TUNING & BRAKES
Stopping power is crucial to a safe and successful driving experience.
Whether you need a brake repair or brake replacement, Sierra Tires and Automotive can help you get safely—and confidently—back on the road.
Sometimes, your vehicle's brakes will alert you when there's trouble. Whistling noises, chirping sounds, and grinding are indications that a brake repair is required. Here are some common causes of brake pedal pulsation and/or noise:
Worn brake pads or rotors
Loose-fitting brake pads in the caliper
Uneven torque of lug nuts or caliper hardware
Brakes often come equipped with a small-thin piece of metal attached to the brake pad to act as a warning indicator when the pad material is getting low and the brake pads should be replaced. This device makes a chirping noise on brake application, letting you know it is time to have your brakes serviced.
The most critical step in keeping your vehicle running at its best begins with regular auto maintenance. In most cases, our service experts will start your auto maintenance visit with a multi-point vehicle inspection. This thorough inspection of your vehicle may indicate the need for a more in-depth repair, including brake service, engine repair, and/or transmission repair.
Regular and mileage-based auto maintenance is best for the longevity of your vehicle.
Hear a rattle? Smell something unique? Is your car or truck just not feeling “right”? These can all be small signs of a bigger problem. Knowing what to look for in between regular maintenance visits can help keep a small issue from becoming a major auto repair.
WHEELS & SUSPENSION
Shocks and Struts : The ride and handling system supports your vehicle’s weight, keeps the wheels in contact with the road and helps provide a comfortable ride.
Strut Mount/Bearing: The strut mount helps improve strut operation by absorbing energy and restoring smooth steering while the bearing allows the strut to turn with the wheels while steering.
The ball joint is a pivot point for the wheel assembly, allowing the wheels to turn and move up and down with the suspension.
Your suspension system’s coil springs support the weight of your vehicle and maintain vehicle ride height.
The bushings attached to the suspension system provide a cushioned link between control arms and chassis.
Control arms join wheel hubs to the vehicle frame, allowing for a full range of motion while maintaining proper wheel alignment.
